Accountant with Payroll Experience

The purpose of this position is ELI, Inc. is responsible for and execute on key accounting functions such as Payroll, A/P, A/R, Sales Tax Filings, Financial Reporting and Collections. The Accountant will follow GAAP, as it relates to general accounting duties, such as month-end closing by making entries, running reports and ensuring accuracy. The incumbent in this position will serve as an important contributor to a highly experienced, talented team in a complex, high-volume, and fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs duties related to one or more of the following accounting functions: Payroll, A/P, A/R, Collections, Sales Taxes Filings, Financial Reporting.
  • Processes a semi-monthly payroll with a high degree of confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Follows GAAP as it relates to general accounting duties such as month-end closing by making
    entries, running reports and ensuring accuracy.
  • Processes transactions, issues checks, and updates ledgers, budgets, etc.
  • Performs account collections.
  • Assists with resolving Payroll, A/P and A/R discrepancies.
  • Cross-trains ELI on other accounting team functions as a backup.
  • Handles communications with clients and vendors via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Willing to work extra hours during peak periods as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Associate’s degree with experience in a related field.
  • 3 – 5 plus years of experience working in accounting functions, including but not limited to: Payroll,
    Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, Collections and Invoicing.
  • Experience processing payroll on an ADP platform.
  • Experience using accounting software and familiarity with 3rd party payment systems.
