Wage & Hour - FLSA

The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), which establishes minimum wage, overtime pay, and recordkeeping employment standards, is a very technical area that many employers get wrong. In fact, in 2007, more than 311,000 employees received a total of $180.7 million in minimum wage and overtime back wages as a result of FLSA violations.

ELI® developed its wage and hour course, Communicating Standards, to help organizations comply with the FLSA. The course translates technical wage and hour jargon into easy-to-understand scenarios and solutions that managers can remember. By the end of the course, managers will be able to identify when they have a responsibility to take action to address wage and hour issues. They will also be able to communicate and enforce the guidelines set forth by the Fair Labor Standards Act with the help of three management guidelines they learn during the course.
