Course Overview
This harassment investigation training course immerses participants in a video dramatization of a single employment lawsuit whose details are progressively revealed. Hands-on and interactive, the course requires participants to investigate and document the company’s position using a model that is both easy to remember and simple to apply.
The Legal Record is available in both a four-hour version and a six-hour version.
The four-hour program focuses on documenting and supporting the harassment investigation process. It includes the following topics:
- Significance of accurate documentation
- Fact vs. speculation
- Model for fact-finding
- Witness credibility
- Using existing documentation
- Creating new documentation
The six-hour program provides further investigation skills. It includes the information in the four-hour course and these additional topics:
- Internal investigator’s duties
- Gathering pertinent information
- Investigating workplace claims
- Interviewing and obtaining witness statements
Delivery Options
This is an instructor-led program that can be taught by ELI®’s professional instructors or your ELI-certified instructors. The course is available in either a four- or six-hour format. The four-hour format is ideal for general managers and supervisors, while the six-hour format provides skills practice for Human Resource managers and others who conduct extensive investigations.
