Union Avoidance Training for Managers

Union Avoidance Training for Managers: Strengthening Employee Relations addresses the managerial responsibilities for establishing and maintaining positive employee relations in order to appropriately recognize and respond to signs of union organization.


Course Overview

Like all of ELI®’s award-winning programs, this course uses interactive, skills-building exercises, realistic workplace scenarios, and concrete guidelines to teach participants how to identify and address signs of union organization efforts.

Most importantly, the course teaches managers how to welcome and respond to employee concerns in order to avoid the issues that lead to union activity in the first place.

During this program, participants will cover the following topics:

  • Welcoming employee concerns
  • Recognizing signs of union organizing
  • Benefits cited by union supporters
  • Detriments cited by union opponents
  • Guidelines for responding appropriately to union issues
  • National Labor Relations Board
  • Protected concerted activity

Delivery Options

Strengthening Employee Relations is a two-hour modular program that can be taught by ELI’s professional instructors or your own ELI-certified instructors.
