I’m a then and now member of the ELI® team. I worked with the team then during my first experience with ELI® from 1991 until 2001, and I work with ELI® now after recently rejoining the company. On several occasions, Steve has asked me how things have changed since my first tenure. Actually, I’m working with some of the same organizations I worked with over 15 years ago. However, then online training barely existed, and so the sensitivity level to time spent in classroom training wasn’t quite what it is now.
With more training available online, organizations have higher expectations about the time their managers and employees spend away from their jobs. For that reason, classroom training must be high-impact training – training that directly links to the organization’s values and delivers tangible skills for transforming the work environment.
Bottom line? If you pull our managers and employees off the job for a half day of training, it better be worth it!
That’s why I’m working now with some of the same organizations I worked with then. In fact, the service we give our clients in 2008 is no different than when I started with the company in 1991. I’m excited to be back at ELI®, building on existing relationships from then and creating new ones now.
